Mort Rizvi

M.D., F.A.C.S. & CEO

Dr. Mort Rizvi is one of the leading plastic and cosmetic surgeons in the Greater Studio City area, but he is also known as one of Southern California’s most versatile surgeons of any type. Dr. Rizvi is board-certified both in plastic surgery and hand surgery. He is also a widely respected craniofacial, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgeon with an in-depth background in microsurgery.

His training began in medical school at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he had also completed his undergraduate work. After that, Dr. Rizvi completed his general surgery residency in 2003 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He then went to Houston Methodist Hospital, where he finished his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery in 2006. Later, Dr. Rizvi completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at Studio City County + USC Medical Center (also referred to as CountyUSC). He completed his craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship training at Children’s Hospital Studio City in 2010. Since then, he has built a reputation for helping patients from all walks of life change their lives for the better through all types of procedures.

Victoria Shevlot holds 9+ years of progressive management experience with staff ranging from 5-35. Victoria has served at the Manager level position in 5 medical companies and is highly attentive to the needs of the practice and its patients. Victoria marvelously operates with the highest level of ethics, integrity and confidentiality.

At West Empire, Victoria is highly knowledgable about the surgical procedures that we offer. When going through your surgical journey, Victoria will be alongside your experience during the pre-op and post-op stages.

Senior Manager

Meet Rocio Vargas, a seasoned medical professional with over two decades of dedicated service in the healthcare industry. With a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set, Rocio has been a driving force in providing comprehensive patient care and support.

For the past 20 years, Rocio has been an integral part of the medical field, significantly impacting various roles. Her expertise spans a wide range of specialties, including workers' compensation and personal injury, where she has dedicated a decade to helping individuals navigate their unique medical needs.

As a Certified Medical Assistant, over the course of a decade, she developed a deep understanding of patient care and medical assistance. Her compassion and commitment to patient well-being have always been at the forefront of her career.

Katie Donhauser

PA-C

Katie Donhauser, PA-C, is a dedicated, skilled physician associate committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Katie graduated at the top of her class, completed her graduate studies at Western University of Health Sciences, and earned her Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Her prior experience includes serving as a Medical Scribe at Huntington Orthopedic Institute and a Medical Assistant at Hamza Mohsen MD Neurology Center for Adults & Children, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care and clinical coordination.

Katie holds multiple certifications, including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), both issued by the American Heart Association in 2022.

Katie's comprehensive education, diverse experience, and commitment to patient well-being make her an invaluable West Empire Plastic Surgery team member.

Isabella Murray, PA-C is a dedicated and skilled Certified Physician Assistant at West Empire Plastic Surgery, where she works closely with Dr. Rizvi to provide exceptional care in both plastic and hand surgery. Isabella specializes in pre-operative assessments, patient education, and surgical assistance, ensuring every patient receives personalized attention and a seamless surgical experience. Isabella earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Chapman University and went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Western University of Health Sciences. Before joining West Empire Plastic Surgery, she gained invaluable hands-on experience as an Emergency Medical Technician at PRN Ambulance, where she provided critical care in high-pressure situations. Additionally, Isabella’s leadership skills were honed during her tenure as Head Lead Intern at CHOC Children’s Medical Intelligence and Innovation Institute, where she managed operations for over 80 students and collaborated with hospital leadership to create impactful learning opportunities.

With her diverse background and unwavering commitment to patient care, Isabella brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, leadership, and compassion to every interaction, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

Meet Caleb Yearick, an administrative professional, with over five years of progressive service providing administrative support. Caleb’s professional journey is rooted in a strong academic foundation. Over the past six years, he earned an Associate of Science in Business Administration from Santa Monica College, graduating with high honors and consistent recognition on the Dean’s List. He then advanced to complete his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, where he graduated magna cum laude and once again earned distinction on the Dean’s List. With over 14 years of experience in the medical field, Yasaira Perez is a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller currently working at West Empire Surgery Center. Her journey began at a chiropractic office, where she gained hands-on experience with personal injury and workers' compensation cases. Over her nine years there, she developed strong skills in physical therapy support, patient scheduling, and completing state disability documentation.

Yasaira later transitioned into family practice, where she was responsible for processing authorizations and managing billing functions. Her career path then led her to the surgical field, where she took on a broader scope—verifying insurance eligibility, determining patient financial responsibility, handling authorization requirements, and billing secondary insurance providers.

Throughout her career, Yasaira has consistently demonstrated excellence in customer service, communication, and navigating complex billing processes. In 2021, she earned her Certificate in Medical Billing and Coding, further solidifying her commitment to continuous learning in the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.

Passionate about the challenges and intricacies of medical billing, Yasaira finds motivation in helping patients and providers stay informed and organized. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her goddaughter and godson, often planning fun outings to make lasting memories.

Gigi Lopez is West Empire Plastic Surgery’s Billing & Scheduling Specialist with 10+ years in medical billing, coding, and OR coordination across hospital and ambulatory surgery settings. She manages end-to-end claims (ICD-10/CPT), payer contracting and credentialing, A/R reconciliation, and patient statements. Known for a calm, solutions-first approach in high-volume environments, Gigi bridges the gap between clinical and administrative teams to keep cases moving smoothly and patients informed.

Miguel

Miguel De La Rosa

Digital Marketing Manager

Miguel De La Rosa is a young and driven individual who is actively involved in consumer advocacy. Miguel recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Consumer Affairs. Over the past four years, Miguel has successfully led three non-profit organizations and served in a total of 4 Director-level positions. Currently, Miguel is proudly advocating for community development as Planning Commissioner for his hometown.
