Up Lips, Not Upkeep
A lip lift is an in-office, outpatient procedure that makes the upper lip look more pronounced and youthful. It works by shortening the philtrum, the ridge that runs from the base of the nose to the top of the lip, thereby exposing more of the colored area–called the vermilion—of the upper lip. Called “direct” because it works just above the upper lip, this option makes the border around the lip more defined and enhances the colored part of the lip.
So-called because of the shape of the incision hidden just at the base of the nose, this option pulls the center, right, and left of the lip upward.
This option limits the incision to just the center of the base of the nose, and the skin is pulled up.
This option involves making an incision at the corners of the mouth and then pulling the skin. This option can create a more smiling appearance for patients whose mouths may be downturned.
